Ok... I am going to give this one a try... I have seen this around and thought it maybe fun to do it though I am sure I have screwed up somewhere along the line... so, I hope I have done this right... Debz helped me through and didn't leave me out in the cold... thanks Debz...My name is Fliss (well, that is my nickname) and am married to Mike... I am an Aussie living here in Florida... we had met up 'by mistake' on-line in 1999 and in the start ended up being friends until one day in 2000 went over to Australia to visit me - he flew over with his mum... at first I was a little worried this stranger was coming over but if you are bringing your mum you mustn't be to scary... we knew from all the months etc that something was happening between us but we never really followed up on anything cause of the distance... well, when he went back to the US, we got to talking and knew something was happening and so I saved my money and flew to the US for 90 days... for a vacation (besides, you know something is going on you don't want to spend a week here)... well, this happened once more and the 3rd trip I stayed over in the US... one morning we woke up and said "Let's get married" and we went off down to the Courthouse, got married, came home and watched TV - though that night we all went out for a nice dinner... we got money for gifts as we didn't really need anything and went to Sth Dakota on our honeymoon and it was great... seeing Mt Rushmore etc even drove to Wyoming to Devil's Tower... it was great fun... we LOVE to travel... will go basically anywhere we can... our next big adventure though is to China... right now we are just in a long, long wait... hoping that this year we will get our 'call' to let us know we have been matched with a little girl... who we will name Shauna... we are naming her after my sister who was still born and Mike's first girlfriend - he just always loved that name and when I found out that he liked that name... well, what a sign... Oh and I love photography... though I am not that great at it... I never learnt 'film' because of the cost when I was younger and had no camera etc then 'THANK YOU DIGITAL'... now, I am like a demon taking photos... anything that moves... if you would like to have a look at a few I took go to Flissy's Corner as for Mike he is from Massachussetts and New Hampshire originally... me, I am from Sydney, NSW Australia... so, there is a little bit about me... take care...

Welcome to the party. Thanks for dropping me a note Fliss. I pray that my husband and I will be able to adopt a child from China one day as well. I know we have to do it before it's too late. Honestly, I've always wanted to go to Australia too. There's just so much to see in the world, and I would love to see it all. I have a friend who lived in Sydney for a year and she LOVED it.

Flissa,
Thanks for visiting my blog party. Your blog looks very interesting and I will be back to visit you.
I don't have any children either, they are all grown up. I guess you would say that I am an "empty nester". I don't know if they have that expression in Australia, but an empty nester is a person who's children have grown up and "left the nest".
But, I have three Chihuahuas that are a lot of fun and keep me company. That is what my blog is all about.
Good luck on your adventures to get your little girl.
How long does it take to adopt in China? Do you have any idea?
Thanks for stopping by via the "party" =)
I'm going to have to come back and pilfer through your posts ... looks like a fun site.
Best wishes for your adoption.
I follow "Waiting for Sophie" ... she has been here a couple years now, but the whole adoption is documented beautifully on her blog. She too is from China.

Thanks for visiting my site and welcome to the party. Sydney is my favorite place in the world, I did a semester abroad at Macquarie University.
