Update on Qin Qian and more...

Ok... first things first (sorry for the delay in thank you both)... a huge thank you to Lisa for this book that she sent me... How did you know I just adore 'Felicity Wishes'... it was the nicest surprise when I came back from Vegas...
The other surprise I - well, Shauna got was this bib that was made by Kayce for me... this bib she handmade... it is so cute and will definatly be going to China with us...
Last but not least... thank you to Dusty who put me in touch with Marye (she has 2 girls from Chengdu Orphanage) the same orphanage from that Qin Qian (the little girl we sponsor) is from well, I have found out this from the Half The Sky website... (I copied it and am sure they won't mind)...
Chengdu: The city continues to experience aftershocks and the institution director is afraid the water supply will be cut off again, so has requested disposable diapers. They are having trouble finding sufficient supplies of milk and formula. All children in foster care have been located and are fine. The institution has structural cracks but was built to current earthquake standards and is fundamentally solid. All the children remain on the first floor of the children’s building, mostly in the cafeteria, and, weather-permitting, outside while awake.
So, it is great to hear that all is fine - to say the least... I am suppose to pay my sponsorship tomorrow and so I will give a few extra dollars to them... I have seen photos etc of the mess over there... it is awful when you see people 'displaced' like this... whether it be in China or anywhere else in the world...

Glad to hear the news- that book is so cute! I feel like I felt on 9-11 helpless-all I can do is send some money! I wish I could go and help! At this point Mj needs me-durning 9-11 My second child in utero was not doing well and I was in the hospital-as a nurse you just feel helpless wishing you could go use your talent for others! I am sure others feel the same!

Glad to read that she is fine! It must be very very scary there and one hopes they all of these children recover from the trauma of it all!

By the way: The "answer" is up, so pop on by to see what it is!

I'm so glad you were able to connect with someone from the SWI. And I "know" Dusty (she's another Tonggu Momma). She is sweet, isn't she?

Glad to hear she is as well as can be expected, under the circumstances. I still can't believe all I am seeing. It feels surreal now to watch the images and rad the statistics.

Cute bib. So glad Qin Qian is ok. My MIL is not about 600 miles from the quake epicentre at the moment. She says the government has been very responsive in assisting those in need.
