Van Gogh to start his work...

The closet... we are getting some shelves built for in here. There is a stain on the wall... that was when a frog got into the pipe leading to the AC and clogged the pipe and the water backed up and through the AC duct etc and down the wall... we never bothered getting it fixed cause we knew that it was going to be repaired... suffice to say that the AC situation is repaired... the big boxes are actually the Hutch... just waiting to be put together.
The loft where we keep our papers and stuff... along here we are going to put a little fence to make it look like a garden to block the view of all the stuff that will be stored up there. Though, come the day when I feel comfortable enough, I will let Shauna go up here. There is actually a phone jack up there and you can put a TV up there... it is great up there. I actually like going up there sometimes to get away... we are going to eventually block the first few rungs with a chalk board or a magnetic board to stop little legs from trying to climb up there and with the empty space behind the ladder I have some 'fun' pillows to put there... we all know kids love crawling into spaces... this wall will be painted a purple colour... the rest of the room will be a pale yellow... I figured we needed the other colour to break the yellow...
My own personal Van Gogh arrives tomorrow... well, actually I can only wish Van Gogh was rising from the dead to paint the room but in fact the painter is getting to our place at 8am to start painting Shauna's room... I have finished 'staining' the Base Boards and around the windows... it is exciting to be able really get things started and will take a few happy snaps of the finished work...
Like I said in my previous post I mentioned how I was excited to finally get things started... last night I was getting really into the painting thing and part of the carpet had been pulled back and so I decided that I was going to rip the carpet up... I couldn't wait for the Carpet guy to get here... so Mike had to go to his brother's house to get some stuff and told me to wait until he got back and he would help me... ha... if anyone knows me I am stubborn and couldn't wait for him and so can you imagine me rolling this 30 year old dusty carpet out of the door, around a corner, around another corner, out the front door and along the front yard for it to be picked up... oh it was good to get that out...
When Mike and I were clearing out of the room of everything... I just never noticed how much 'stuff' I have gotten over the 3 years... when I get the room done and slowly put things away... that if I don't want them I will keep everything...
Then today I got a call from my Mother-in-law's best friend to tell me her friend had a crib at her house that was about 3 years old but the lady had it for her Grandkids... they don't want it in the house anymore and apparently this crib that is like Oak well, they want to sell it to me for $100... including the mattress etc I hve bene told it basically looks brand new... I could not believe my luck...
Oh and while I was pulling the boxes out of the room I had discovered the Red Sox bib... hehehe... hey, we have to train her young :) Wait until we teach her to not like the Yankees :)
I got my Christmas present from my sister... well, it was sitting in her car until mum got her hands on it and mailed it to me... it is a book of all the photos I took on my trips back to Australia and she had them put into a book... oh... I will say that I got all chocked up... I love it... this is just 2 pages of the book...Last but not least is my Great Niece Carmie... she is holding my little Barack on her shoulder... this is the first time she held a bird and she loved him... she was walking around the house with him on her shoulder though it is funny (as you can see by Mike in the background) seeing her so tense and we kept on trying to get her to relax... In about a month I will have a photo of the finished 100 wishes quilt... a customer from work learnt that I had one to be made and she found out about my quilt and offered to make it for free... I was talking to her yesterday and she has done the front and is now working on the back of it. So, I will take a picture of it at some stage...
So, there it is for now...

Love the Red Sox item. We have a crib that you can have free of charge with a mattress. All you need to do is come to PA to pick it up.

Have fun putting everything together. I have works in progress in my house too and the "littles" room will be done soon I hope... I love seeing all the little things that I have bought over time and forgot I had!

I have a crib too- wondering if I will need it for Anna Grace!

And it will be a masterpiece.

Great smile from your little one, by the way. That photo is a keeper.

It's looking good mama. Congrats to you for having restraint. I would have had the entire room done 3 years ago.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the transformation.

I can't wait to see Shauna's room. I'm also excited to see your 100 blessings quilt. It's so neat that someone volunteered to stitch that for free!

How exciting to be getting her room ready!! We did Emma's about 8 months before she came home, and I would just sit in her room, looking at all the things we had gotten for her, telling her how beautiful she would be in this outfit or that one - it really made me feel like she was coming home - you will have your sweetie this year, sometime, I am sure! Love, Regina

Ah, the photos of the room look very similar to what we're dealing with over here but unfortunately we have to get ours done a little sooner. We're leaving the walls as is because it's a rental and I'm not painting.

Can't wait to see the finished product!
